Sci-fi's ULTIMATE villains are back. Scarrens wet themselves in their wake, the Goa'uld run for the hills, Peacekeepers commit Hair-kiari, and the Sith hug their lil leather teddy's at night. The Daleks, ldies and gentelmen, are truly back. Never mind the Borg (who as it turns out WERE ripped off from these guys) Ever since the 60's the Skaro equivilent of the 3rd Reich were gliding across the airwaves, Exterminating all in their wake. Nothing could stop them, save possibly stairs. Or at least thats what the general public thought when brought face to face with these ahem... 'ridiculous' looking Dustbins from space.
Anyone who has seen 'Dalek' (episode 6 of the new serise) will know mocking the mutants in Bonded Polycarboid Armour is not the best way to survive the next 5 seconds, and there isnt a single part of the Dalek which shouldnt be feared. Whats that I hear you cry? Its got a sink plunger for a hand, what goods that? lol. You wait and see what that Sink Plunger does! Stairs.... heh, start running.
In 'Dalek' 500 marines and personel are killed by just 1 Dalek. And as things have turned out, by the end of the serise.... well. I'll let you guys see for yourself. And dont bother about the Stairs, theyre no use to anyone any more.......
Basically I took the pencil sketch, put that as the top layer, set it to multiply, and did the coloring using the soft edged airbrush on a seperate layer. Then I added a gradient background, abover everything else I added a few glowing blurred lights for the eyes, and then flattened it, cropped it and added a snazzy border and font. Easy. lol.
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
